Sally Sitou, the Federal Member for Reid, today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support Touched by Olivia and Canada Bay Council to deliver the expansion of Livvi’s Café and the development of a new multi-use community hub – The LIVVIng Room - at Timbrell Park in Five Dock.

This $1.6 million election commitment will support the transformation of Livvi’s Café, a thriving social enterprise, enabling more people with disability and those facing barriers to employment to do paid internships and gain hands-on skills in the hospitality sector.

The expanded venue will also feature a flexible community space that locals can visit, hire and enjoy throughout the year.

Currently operating out of just 30 square metres, Livvi’s Café will grow to a significantly larger footprint, with the final size to be determined through Council’s community consultation and design process, to meet the needs of a diverse and growing community.

This announcement builds on Labor’s record of supporting inclusive infrastructure and meaningful employment pathways in communities across the country.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Reid Sally Sitou MP:

“This is more than a building, it’s an investment in the potential of every person in our community.

“The LIVVIng Room will be a place where people connect, grow, and feel supported, especially those living with disability.

“Only a re-elected Albanese Labor Government can be trusted to deliver this inclusive and empowering project.”
