IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE

By Sally Sitou

We are improving access to free healthcare for all Australians.

Cheaper medicines

Under Labor, medications listed on the PBS are about to get even cheaper. We’re taking the cost of medicines back to 2004 prices. From next January, a PBS prescription costs no more than $25.00.

Supporting women’s health

Too often, women’s health hasn’t been taken seriously. Labor is changing that.

We're delivering:

  • more free GP appointments for long term contraceptives like IUDs,
  • more support for women experiencing menopause
  • 22 new endo and pelvic pain clinics to help women get treatment sooner, with 11 more to come

For the first time in 30 years we’ve made it cheaper to buy contraceptives with new options added to the PBS - and with our cheaper medicines bill, it’ll drop to just $25 a script.

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics

EOIs for the Burwood Medicare Urgent Care Clinic are OPEN

Walk in and get the care you need - without paying a cent. From cuts and burns to sprains and infections, at Labor's free Medicare Urgent Care Clinics you’ll be treated by a doctor or nurse, fully bulk-billed.

Whether it’s seeing a doctor or getting the medicine you need, you shouldn’t have to worry about the cost. Because every Australia deserves access to quality healthcare.

We’ve already opened clinics across the country - and there are more to come, including in Burwood. Labor’s making healthcare free, local, and there when you need it most.
